What sets Dan apart is his ability to connect with the children and to let them express themselves in creative ways.
— - Angela Harris, Main Street Theater

Background and teaching philosophy

Dan has taught ages 5-18 years old for 15+ years and the classes he has taught have ranged from acting, filmmaking, stage combat, mime, commedia dell’arte, playwriting, Shakespeare, and shadow puppetry. His philosophy to teaching theatre is a collaborative process where he guides the students so they can make their own personal discoveries. With this approach, students feel a real sense of ownership with their creative ideas and achievements.

In addition to teaching theatre, Dan has written and adapted a number of children’s plays and musicals that were produced in Texas, New York and Connecticut.
